Dr. MICHAEL FUENFER

Dr. Michael Fuenfer is certified as a US Air Force Flight Surgeon and US Army Flight Surgeon. Dr. Fuenfer is a graduate of the US Air Force Basic and Advanced Critical Care Aeromedical Transport program.

He has served as a flight physician flying with a hospital-based helicopter air ambulance unit in Birmingham, AL, and is currently on Active Duty in the US Army serving as a Senior Flight Surgeon with the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, Fort Carson, CO. Dr. Fuenfer has an 11 FAA pilot ratings including, Commercial pilot, Flight Instructor, and other accolades listed on his CV.

Additionally, Dr. Fuenfer holds SIX different board certifications in both Pediatric and Surgical subspecialties, an accomplishment not held by any other physician in the USA. He is certified by both the American Board of Surgery in Pediatric Surgery and the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.

He has held positions as faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital, formerly faculty at Yale and other esteemed institutions. Dr. Fuenfer has over 35 years of practice and is well published. Notably, he has published peer-reviewed articles and has presented his research at national and international meetings.
